Democracies and Small Wars


The contributors to this study address the challenges faced by democracies in the way they conduct small wars, or low-intensity conflicts as they are euphemistically called. Case studies are analysed and ways are suggested to improve performance through an awareness of the vulnerabilities of democratic states.
