Synopsis

This three-volume reference for high school students and above covers various aspects of the relationship between Mexico and the United states. The 430-plus signed articles discuss topics such as history, culture, economics, social issues, prominent Chicanos, and U. S. cities and states, among others. They also explore the changes in how the two countries have interacted over the centuries, how Mexican Americans live in the U. S. today, and what differences life in their adopted homeland has brought about. The alphabetically-arranged articles are approximately one to three pages in length. Some are accompanied by color and b&w photographs or maps. Profiles of individuals contain a boxed summary of relevant biographical information.
