Books on memory and its disorders have never been in short supply. They vary in sophistication from introductory to advanced and in scope from monographs on a particular aspect of memory to the all-encompassing edited volumes such as the Oxford Handbook of Memory (Tulving & Craik, 2000), the Handbook of Memory Disorders (Baddeley, Wilson, & Watts, 1995), or Memory and Its Disorders edited by the late L.S. Moreover, unlike most monographs and most comprehensive volumes, where theory, fact, and conjecture are intertwined, this book focuses primarily on generally accepted facts. That way, it may serve as a resource of practical and clinically relevant information for the clinically minded reader but also as a foundation of solid data that the aspiring theorist may use as a springboard for . . .
