Reinhart Koselleck’s impressive oeuvre—one which has been extensively discussed in the most recent publications pertaining to the field of conceptual history —has generated many original problematizations and theorizations that have influenced the types of approaches put forth by contemporary historiography. At the same time, the scholarly endeavor to adapt Begriffsgeschichte to different geographic, cultural and national spaces should also take into consideration local, regional or national specificities. This should be the case because no place in Europe or the world can accommodate concepts whose original meanings remain unchanged. Thus, we should accompany Koselleck’s prolific ideas within the freedom to choose the most adequate methods and to apply them in a particular context, time, historical process or event.
