Professor John Macmurray, of University College, London is perhaps the most stimulating philosopher in England today. When Professor Macmurray's new book, Creative Society, was first published in the English edition, we found it a most thought provoking treatment of a vital issue. In fact, our decision to republish the volume in America arose from our conviction that the issue he discusses is fundamental to the future of our own people. It was perhaps inevitable that a revolution as sweeping as that of October 1917 in Russia should be looked upon for a time with fear and hostility by the rest of the world.
