This is the fourth of a. group of books designed to correlate different fields of specialized interest and action and to help integrate in some measure the fragmentary life of this age. Smith; Architecture and Modern Life by Baker Brownell and Frank Lloyd Wright .

In the present book, Organized Labor and Production, the main problems of the wage earner and of the executive, the problem namely of human security and a just stake in industry and the problem of efficient production are considered in the light of each other. The book, I think, is a long step forward in labor theory in that it shows the unity of these problems and the possibility of their cooperative solution.

The authors: Morris Llewellyn Cooke is one of the foremost authorities in the United States on scientific management. He is an engineer with a long history of significant public and private service. He was Philadelphia's Director of Public Works, Chairman of the Storage Committee of the War Industries Board, a Trustee of the Power Authority of the State of New York, Director of the Giant Power Survey of Pennsylvania, Chairman of the Mississippi Valley and Great Plains Committees and Administrator of the Rural Electrification Administration.

Philip Murray is a distinguished labor leader, Vice President of the United Mine Workers of America and of the Congress of Industrial Organizations. He is Chairman of the Steel Workers Organizing Committee, a CIO affiliate.
