Hermes and Athena: Biblical Exegesis and Philosophical Theology

Excerpt

In recent years, there has been a growing tendency for philosophers to know about and to interact closely with their correlative disciplines. So, for example, besides generic philosophers of science, there are now philosophers of biology and philosophers of physics who enmesh themselves in the science they philosophize about and whose work is of interest to scientists as well as to their colleagues in philosophy. Similarly, philosophers of mind have increasingly interested themselves in neurobiology, psychology, or computer science. Their competence in those areas has enriched their philosophical work in philosophy of mind, and their discussions of the correlative disciplines has been of interest to people working in those disciplines as well as to philosophers.

We supposed that such interdisciplinary work would benefit philosophy of religion and also biblical studies . . .
