THE ADVERTISEMMNT -- you may have seen it -- depicts an exquisitely wrought bracelet bearing seven silver charms, each a beautiful, sculptured flower, each conveying a secret message. The language of these flowers, the ad tells us, goes like this:

"You are beautiful," murmurs the daisy.
"The light of my life," adds the twining honeysuckle.
"I love you," chants the amorous rose.
"My love is constant," declares the delicate veronica.
"And steadfast," whispers the modest violet.
"Accept my devotion," pleads the heliotrope.
And the little forget-me-not repeats its name, "Forget me
not . . . forget me not."

Love -- need I say it? -- is what it's all about. Love. The solid sterling, glittering gold and sparkling diamond of our emotions . . .
