Three Views of the Novel: Lectures Presented under the Auspices of the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Poetry and Literature Fund

Excerpt

The three lectures presented in this brochure were delivered at the Library of Congress on January 7, 14, and 28, 1957, under the auspices of the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Poetry and Literature Fund of the Library of Congress. Each of the three novelists spoke about the writing (and reading) of novels from the vantage point of his personal experience, which it is believed will be of interest to a wider audience than could be present to hear the lectures. In keeping with the purpose of the donor who has established the fund which makes these lectures possible, they are now made available to the public.
