The Nonsexist Word Finder: A Dictionary of Gender-Free Usage

Synopsis

Offers alternatives, explanations or definitions for some 5,000 words and phrases that either are obviously sexist, look sexist but aren't, or don't look sexist but are. We abhor "layperson"; but have discovered "laic"shorter, and not a clumsy abomination as "chairperson", or "utility access hole" (manhole). Only rare libraries dare dismiss this acquistion.
