(LAW NO. 1, PROMULGATED ON APRIL 22ND, 1917.)

Article 1. A Branch Division of District Court may be established in a District (Hsien) adjacent to another in which a District Court is already established. Such a Division shall be entitled the () Branch Division of the () District Court.

An aforesaid Branch Division of District Court may be established in the Magistrate's Office.

Article 2. The Jurisdictional Territory of a Branch Division of District Court shall extend to the territorial limit of a District.

Article 3. All civil or criminal cases, which are either cases of a Local Court or cases of a District Court as a court of first instance be tried by the Branch Division of District Court.

Article 4. Cases to be tried in the Branch Division of District Court shall be heard by the Judge thereof alone.

Article 5. when a protest, as regards the decision of a Branch Division of District Court, is made, appeal must be made in the District Court for cases originally for a Local Court, and in the High or its Branch Division for those which belonged originally to the jurisdiction of a District Court.
