The Evolution of Ethics, as Revealed in the Great Religions

Excerpt

This volume includes a series of intensive studies in the ethics of the great religions. The papers were prepared, of course, by specialist. Each essay embodies, in a comparatively brief form, the results of scholarly inquiry into the ethical content of a particular religion. The combined results provide a book that may be used to advantage in courses in the History of Religion, or in a comparative study of religions. It will prove interesting and helpful, also, to the intelligent reader in revealing how fundamental in some, and prominent in all, of the religions in the conception of righteousness. The Editor desires publicly to thank the authors for their contributions to the volume.
