CREON--A man of fifty perhaps, the ruler of Corinth.

Jason--Famous hero and explorer, now settling toward middle age.

AEGEUS--(E'geus--accent on first syllable)--Ruler of Athens, visiting Corinth. A kindly person, a little older than CREON.

A YOUNG MAN--A slave of Jason's.

Also men in attendance on CREON, Jason, Aegeus; and serving- women belonging to Medea.
