Many parents, however, do not feel that they are equipped with the knowledge or educational background to challenge the "system"-- even though they believe they know their child best. This book is designed to explain the processes involved in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the educational setting as well as placement procedures, how progress is measured, and the steps parents can take to promote the best learning environment for their children. It provides baseline guidance on how to interact with the school system.
