The first version was a pioneering work; Betsy Ross was one of the first to recognize and confront the widespread phenomenon of being a survivor of suicide. It was a role with no guidelines when she became a survivor and eventually a healer of other survivors of suicide. Her work was, and still is, the best book on the topic.
