It has become necessary to issue a third edition of this book. No actual changes have been made in the text, except the elimination of certain errors that had been overlooked during the preparation of the second edition.

PREFACE TO THE SECOND EDITION

The first edition of Psychologies of 1925 is almost, exhausted at the end of eight months from publication. We have decided to issue a second edition in order that several typographical errors may be corrected, and in 'order that the series may always be obtainable. It is now practically certain that the Psychologies of 1930 will be issued early in the spring of 1930. The Psychologies of 1930 will comprise a second cross-section of contemporary theoretical psychology, much more comprehensive than the Psychologies of 1925, and will also compriseexpert surveys of the various fields of psychology. As the series increases at five-year intervals, it will be our task to see that each cross-section is more comprehensive than the preceding, and that all issues are available at all times for comparative purposes.
