Despite the bracing weather, MOUSS units held productive meetings at ALA Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia.

The MOUSS board discussed two reorganization issues. The RUSA Organizational Task Force is addressing the possible integration of MOUSS and MARS into a new RUSA frontline reference section. The task force will issue a report by May 1, meet at ALA Annual Conference in Toronto, and take final recommendations to the RUSA board at Midwinter Meeting 2004.

The Resource Sharing Section Feasibility Task Force is supporting a new RUSA Resource Sharing Section. This task force will make an online petition available prior to Toronto.

More than fifty people attended a Future of MOUSS discussion on January 27. Diana Shonrock has prepared the results of this discussion which now appear on the MOUSS Web site.

The Reference Services in Small and Medium-Sized Libraries Discussion Group hosted "Preparing Today's Reference Librarians" on January 26. Invited discussion leaders included Jennifer Pierce, Joyce Taylor, and Danny Wallace.

MOUSS units are organizing three preconferences and four programs for Toronto.

Preconferences on Friday, June 20 include:

* Reference Assessment Programs: Evaluating Current and Future Reference Services

* Digital Reference @ Your Library II

* Drive Through ILL
