Article excerpt

This is my last issue as Editor of the Journal of Rehabilitation. After just over five years as editor, I felt that it was time to allow someone else to be in this role. It has been a quick five years, and it is with great ambivalence that I reached this decision. I have enjoyed this role, and especially enjoyed working with the many people responsible for publication of the Journal.

I want to especially thank all the members of the editorial board for their contributions. I consider the individuals who take their professional time to review and critique the manuscripts the most important part of the publication process. I have received numerous compliments and expressions of appreciation from authors for the discriminating comments and suggestions made by the reviewers. I want to thank you for all the many hours you spent working on manuscripts that were not your own. This work, in my opinion, deserves the highest professional respect and appreciation.

I also want to express appreciation to Leon Russ, the managing editor, whose professional attitude and excellent work in putting the Journal together has been greatly appreciated throughout my term as editor. …
