The six articles included in this issue cover a variety of business topics including competitive intelligence, service productivity, creating fraud awareness, managing confidentiality in an academic presidential search, strategic management, case writing suggestions, and capitalism and accounting reform.

Fitzpatrick discusses creative competitive intelligence that goes beyond accessing information available in the public domain. He explains some of the complex aspects of using creative (CI) competitive intelligence legally and ethically and offers some suggestions on defending against CI gathering by competitors. In the second article, Ojasalo examines the concept of service productivity. The author highlights the complexity of achieving and gauging productivity in services, since the customer is one of the key inputs shaping the productivity of the service.

In the third article, Viton highlights the need to create fraud awareness and take proactive measures to deter it. Ware, in the fourth article, writes from experience about the problem of maintaining confidentiality in an academic presidential search. He provides useful suggestions, especially when state sunshine laws must be taken into account.

Fred David, author of one of the most widely used strategic management textbooks, offers guidelines for writing a strategic management case based on over 20 years of experience in the field. …
