Fellowships available: Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, a residency program in Maine for 65 advanced visual artists, announces 2 fellowships: one for American artists of African descent and a second for artists of Asian/Pacific, Central or South American, Caribbean, or Native American descent. Artists must be 21 years of age. The program offers no formal classes, but rather an opportunity for a concentrated period of independent work with the critical assistance of both resident and visiting artists. Grants available: Creative Capital Foundation will award up to 40 grants in 2004, totaling $400, 000, and ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 in the fields of visual arts and film/video. Similar grants will be awarded in 2005 for performing arts and emerging fields. Additional follow-up funds totaling $900,000 to $1 million are available to grantees in the form of advisory services and additional financial assistance. Grants available: The Experimental Television Center provides support to electronic media and film organizations in New York State to facilitate the exhibition by independents of moving image and sonic art to audiences in New York State. Monies are available to both individuals and organizations with support iron the New York State Council on the Arts. Presentation Funds provides grants to not-for profit organizations in New York State for in-person appearances by independent electronic media and film artists. Events must be open to the public. There is a maximum yearly funding cap for each organization. The Media Arts Technical Fund provides grants of up to $2000 per project to non-profit media arts programs in NYS stablize, strengthen or restructure their programs and to meet a variety of other needs. …
