Article excerpt

February 2004

We start the second quarter of a century in the publication history of the Canadian Journal of Regional Science with a new cover for Volume 26. Numerous suggestions have been received over the last three years for a new 'look'. I thus asked Nathalie Desilets, Photographic and Computer Graphics Technician with the Departement de Geographie at the Universite de Montreal, to come up with alternative designs that would capture the wide ranging subject matter now dealt with by contributing authors to the Journal. While the geographic coverage of the contributions to the Journal is increasingly large, I felt it appropriate that whatever images we used should reflect something about Canada as well.

Nathalie's alternatives were submitted to the Editorial Board and the Executive Committee of the Canadian Regional Science Association. The result of the 'vote' was overwhelmingly in favour of the new cover on Volume 26 (1).

I would like to express my thanks to Nathalie for her work, to Doug Woodworth for his diligence in dealing with a heavy workload in our effort to catch up with the production backlog that existed five years ago, and to all of you who continue to support the Canadian Journal of Regional Science.
