Background

People try to immigrate to the United States every day. Sometimes they are transported in vehicles that are dangerous. The routes they take are also dangerous. Moving people and cargo is rarely a simple task.

Context

You are the coordinator for a group that is sponsoring an immigrant family. They are emigrating from a location and country as specified by your teacher.

Problem Statement

The family is not sure what arrangements must be made in order to make the move from their remote village to your hometown.

Challenge

You must determine what modes of transportation will be needed to safely move the family and its cargo to the United States.

Requirements

Determine the landscape by getting satellite photographs from the Internet. Plan an itinerary that specifies the different modes of transportation needed for the family and its cargo. Gather, download, or draw maps of the route. You must explain how the process of moving the family is intermodal transportation.

Objective
