Each year ITEA receives information about contests and competitions that might be of interest to K-12 technology education teachers. Here are just a few:

* Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF). Students can win scholarships and laptops, and their schools can win cash awards, www.sciserv.org

* 2005-06 Siemens Westinghouse Competition in Math, Science & Technology. This competition awards college scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. Students may enter as individuals or as part of a team. www.siemens-foundation.org/competition or www.collegeboard. com/siemens

* Toshiba/National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) ExploraVision Awards Program. Groups of two to four students choose a technology that exists today and envision what it might be like 20 years in the future. www.exploravision.org

* Best Buy's TE@CH Program. This program provides cash awards to schools to help them expand or enhance existing programs that use the school's available technology to make learning fun for kids. The program is open to accredited K-12 schools that are within 50 miles of a U.S. Best Buy store, http:// communications. …
