The International Technology Education Association (ITEA) is pleased to announce publication of four new addenda on implementing standards-based technology programs, curricula, professional development of teachers, and student assessment. These addenda are intended to provide practical suggestions, processes, and worksheets to help educators realize the technology content standards in Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology (STL) (ITEA, 2000/2002) and the technology companion standards in Advancing Excellence in Technological Literacy: Student Assessment, Professional Development, and Program Standards (AETL) (ITEA, 2003).

We believe that these addenda could be excellent references for technology teachers, supervisors, and teacher educators in your state. Planning Learning: Developing Technology Curricula offers specific suggestions and tools for planning, developing, and evaluating STL standards-based curricula at the course or unit level. Realizing Excellence: Structuring Technology Programs prepares educators to develop technology programs that are standards-based programs, including the content (STL), curricula, instruction, student assessment, learning environment, and professional development implemented across grade levels. …
