Typefaces: There are five resident typefaces available when using the IBM PPDS printer

driver: Courier, Times New Roman, Boldface, Helvetica and Helvetica Narrow. When

using the HP LaserJet II emulation, one typeface is available: Courier. All typefaces are

available in a variety of styles and stroke weights, such as bold, italic, oblique and bold

italic, and all typefaces are available in portrait and landscape orientations.

Pitch/Point sizes: When using the IBM PPDS driver, Courier is scalable in point sizes

ranging from 1 to 1,008 points in .25-point increments and is also available as a bitmap font

in 10, 12 and 17.1 pitch and in point sizes of 8.5, 10 and 12. Times New Roman,

Helvetica and Helvetica Narrow are scalable fonts and are available in point sizes ranging

from 1 to 1,008 points in .25 increments. Boldface is a proportionally spaced typeface and

is available in 12 point. When using the HP Laserjet 11 emulation, Courier is available in

10 and 16.67 pitch and in point sizes of 8.5 and 12. Control panel. The front panel consists of a 16-character LCD, which displays printer messages

and menu system options, and eight push buttons. The buttons are used to select on-line/

alternate mode, print buffer (form feed)/reset, main menu, paper menu, font menu,

list [+ or -] (for scrolling through menu options), select/save and print fonts/display more (fo

showing additional information that does not fit on the 16-character LCD display). There

are also six LEDs which indicate on-line, buffer/receiving data, error check, manual feed,

tray 1 and envelope feeding. Paper-handling features: Input paper sources:

Type and number: One cassette, capable of holding paper ranging in size from 7.25" to

8.5" wide and 10.25" to 11.7" long.

Manual/envelope-feed tray: The manual-feed tray is located on the rear of the machine. It

has an adjustable side guide which allows it to accommodate envelopes. Output paper tray:

Serial/parallel port: The printer uses the same 36-pin connector port for both the RS-232C

serial interface and the Centronics-compatible parallel interface. Users must set the printer
