Indoor Air Purifier Reduces Many Air Contaminants

Photox[TM], from Zentox, is an advanced air purification system designed to reduce indoor airborne microbiological and volatile-organic-compound (VOC) contaminants. Based on photocatalytic oxidation technology (PCO), Photox removes noxious odors, toxic vapors, and infectious organisms from the indoor environment.

In tests performed by EMSL Analytical, Inc., the nation's largest environmental testing firm, Photox excelled at removal of airborne contaminants. Tests were performed to determine effectiveness in the reduction of formaldehyde concentration, ammonia concentration, viable Stachybotrys sp. (black-mold spores), and Bacillus sp. in indoor air. Photox was found to reduce concentrations of volatile airborne chemical vapors to far below established OSHA exposure limits. In the formaldehyde test, reduction became evident after two minutes of operation. After 30 minutes of use, the formaldehyde concentration dropped from 5 ppm to 0.2 ppm. Ammonia levels were also reduced after two minutes of operation and went from 60 ppm to 9 ppm after 30 minutes and to 2 ppm after 60 minutes. …
