Robert Galvan Receives the James E. Peavy Memorial Award

The Texas Public Health Association (TPHA) recently named Robert Galvan, Dr.P.H., M.P.H., M.S., D.A.A.S., the recipient of its James E. Peavy Memorial Award. The award, which is TPHA's highest accolade, is presented annually to a public health worker in Texas who has made significant contributions to the advancement of public health knowledge or practice, or who has demonstrated a genuine concern for the health needs of society

Dr. Galvan has been a TPHA member for 37 years. During that time he served as association president, was elected as an honorary life member, served on the Executive Board and Governing Council, and served on numerous committees. He has also served as chair of several state TPHA educational conferences.
