After several years in the small business industry, I am excited to join the staff of the Association for Childhood Education International as the Public Relations Manager. I am thrilled to join such a dedicated and prestigious organization whose commitment to children is unrivaled. This position presents an amazing opportunity to relate what ACEI stands for and accomplishes. I feel privileged to be a part of a team that works so diligently to help educate and improve conditions for the children of the world.

For generations, my family has been committed to helping children. My grandmother was a social worker in the 1930s and 1940s, placing children for adoption. My mother followed the same career, and found appropriate homes for the abandoned or unwanted. I remember hearing stories of the young and frightened children whom she placed. She never lost her passion for the welfare of children.

My father encouraged children through example and instruction. In his youth, he was a professional basketball player. After a few seasons, he changed careers to teach children physical education. He also was the recreation director for our hometown in Greenbelt, Maryland. My family stressed the importance of both education and play, standards that ACEI advocates for in their quest for children. …
