Jerry Aldridge and Doris Bergen were named recipients of the ACEI Staff Recognition Award at the 2007 Annual Conference in Tampa, FL. This award recognizes outstanding ACEI members who have assisted Headquarters staff for many years with numerous projects and have served as valuable sources of information and inspiration.

Jerry Aldridge is Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and has been an active ACEI member for 21 years. He has published over 100 articles in various scholarly journals, and has authored or contributed chapters to numerous publications. Some of his most recent co-authored books include Current Issues and Trends in Education (2007) and Integrating Environmental Print Throughout the PreK-3 Curriculum: Making Literacy Experiences Meaningful (2007).

Recognized as a nationally known expert in early childhood education, early intervention, early literacy, child development, multiculturalism, and emotional development, Aldridge has given presentations all throughout the United States and in several foreign countries. He is on the Board of Directors for the United States National Committee of OMEP and the World Early Childhood Organization, and serves on ACEI's Publications Committee.

Doris Bergen is Professor of Educational Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and co-director of Miami University's Center for Human Development, Learning, and Technology. …
