Ms Toni Bauman was re-appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow--Native Title Research Unit (NTRU) commencing in January 2007. In April 2007, she convened the first national meeting of Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), following which she published a report on the meeting with Ms Tran Tran, and has convened follow-up meetings of Government representatives involved in the workshop as part of a broader NTRU PBC research project. In an NTRU partnership with the National Native Title Tribunal, Ms Bauman co-convened and reported on a workshop, 'Getting Better Outcomes: A workshop on native title connection' which was held in July 2007 and attended by representatives of the States and Territories, native title representative bodies (NTRB) and native title service providers. Ms Bauman continues to respond to requests concerning Indigenous decision making and dispute management arising out of the Indigenous Facilitation and Mediation Project (2003-06) and delivered training for the Aurora NTRB Community Liaison/Field Officer Program in decision-making and dispute management. She was a member of a panel of speakers with representatives of the Department of Finance and Auditing and the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA) in the first Canberra Evaluation Forum focussing on evaluating Indigenous programs, and has published a paper in the Indigenous Law Bulletin about Indigenous community engagement and the Commonwealth's government's 'national emergency'. …
