We are very pleased to announce that the Public Affairs Committee is planning two special sessions for the ACEI Conference 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. These sessions will focus on environmental education in action.

This year, we will have an Open Forum and then a Panel Presentation. Judit Szente will be the moderator for both sessions. The first, Part I: Teachers' Open Forum, will allow teachers from all over the world to share their work on environmental education. The second session, Part II: Panel Presentations, will include a panel of experts sharing their work on environmental education. The panel will include Nancy Brown, Jim Hoot, Joe Frost, and Glen Thomas.

Our committee is also working on a resolution for Conference 2008. Judit Szente and Nancy Brown are preparing the draft of "A Resolution on Climate Change in the Lives of Children and Youth." Members of the Public Affairs Committee have already given Judit and Nancy feedback on this timely resolution. In addition, Public Affairs Committee members Nancy Brown, Merribeth Bruning, Kathleen Conway, Susan Mody, Linda Pickett, Mary Jo Pollman, Lynn Staley, Judit Szente, Amanda Woods, Deborah Young, Eva Zygmunt-Fillwalk, and I have been working with Sheri Levin to fulfill our plan of action before March. …
