Report of the Norwegian Music Library Association (Norsk musikkbiblio tekforening) for March 2006-March 2007.

During this period, the board consisted of the following: Siren Steen, chair; Randi Hansen, treasurer; Board members: Tone Notvik Jakobsen, Ann Kunish, Frida Rosand, Anna Saemundsdottir, Merete Kloften, Aslak Oppeboen.

Four board meeting and two members' meetings have been held.

The Association has 83 members, 25 of which hold personal memberships.

Issues dealt with during the year include:

1. Copyright as it pertains to our profession

2. Contributing discussion to "Library Reform 2014" (Bibliotekreform 2014)

3. Recommendations concerning music cataloguing as requested by the Norwegian Catalogue Committee, on the implementation of Marc21. The Association arranged a meeting on this issue during the IAML conference in Gothenburg, Sweden. Frida Rosand and the Association's previous chair, Inger Johanne Christiansen, have worked on this issue. The Association delivered its recommendation to the Norwegian Catalogue Committee in August. As an extension of this, the Association has also begun work on a revised edition of "Subjects in music documents in data-catalogues".

4. Follow-up of our cooperation with our sister organisation in Denmark in regard to suggestions for changes in IAML conferences and organisation. These suggestions now being considered by IAML.

5. The Association has set up a new website, http://www.norskbibliotekforening .no/site/musikk/, and has begun to investigate alternatives for a music library portal that will, among other things, include an updated, electronic version of the book Finn Musikken, a document designed as a reference for setting up music libraries. …
