As the Vice President of the Swedish IAML branch, I am very pleased to present this short report of last year's activities.

The major event of the year was the conference in Goteborg from 18 to 23 June. Last year's conference in Goteborg was, as you remember, the first joint conference between IAML, IAMIC and IMS. Many delegates expressed great satisfaction with this approach and a strong wish to continue the collaboration.

The opening ceremony took place in the large reception hall at Borsen, the Goteborg City Hall. The opening fanfare was played from the balcony on a bronze lur, a replica of an instrument from the Nordic Bronze Age (1500-500 BC). The conference week ended with traditional Swedish midsummer celebrations.

About 400 participants from 40 countries were assembled and the conference week was a great success. A large number of delegates from Sweden were there, about half of the members of the Swedish IAML participated.

In 2006, the Swedish Music Library Association had 122 members, and the number of members is steadily increasing. Sweden has a high proportion of individual members, 80 in total.
