The American Institute of CPAs now has a World Wide Web site, http:// www.aicpa.org. Visitors can access information about the AICPA and its products, state CPA societies and state boards of accountancy, conferences and professional standards. Other links include "News Flash!"--late-breaking news about the profession--and "Students and Educators"--which includes information about the Uniform CPA Examination. A hotlink allows users to send an e-marl message directly to a number of different AICPA departments. The home page has connections to other useful Web sites, such as the American Accounting Association, the American Bar Association and many submitted by visitors.

For novices and experts

Although AICPA Online, as the Web site is officially called, is a powerful tool even for experienced Net surfers, beginners too will find it useful, with the connections clearly labeled and easy to use. The home page even has a tutorial connection. By clicking on the magnifying glass icon that appears on many pages, users can call up a search page to look for a particular word or phrase anywhere on the AICPA Web site. …
