Dear Readers,

The Southeastern Geographer is now a quarterly journal! We have expanded the journal because of the growing interest and ongoing commitment to build the journal into a recognized outlet for peer-reviewed research. The goal is to become eligible for ISI Journal Citation Reports. This issue, then, represents Number 1 in Volume 49.

Last year, we transitioned into becoming a quarterly by having two regular editions and a special edition guest edited by the former editor of the journal and SEDAAG President, Derek Alderman. This coming year, we will have at least two regular editions and probably two special editions. With this edition, we also welcome new Book Review Editor, E. Spencer Fleury. Spencer is a research faculty member and geographer with the University of South Florida Libraries. We also wish to formally welcome Editorial Assistant Leslie North who took over from Monica Exner who resigned to begin new adventures in the Pacific Northwest. We also wish to thank our Editorial Board and the reviewers for their outstanding service as we continue to expand and improve the journal. …
