Jane Elizabeth Bubb: 1959 to 2008

It is with personal sadness that I announce the death of Jane Elizabeth Bubb, who died on 20 December 2008.

Jane trained as an occupational therapist at the University of the West of England, qualifying in the summer of 2008. Her quick and sudden illness prevented her from applying for her first job, but her contribution to the profession as a student is to be celebrated and remembered.

Jane was a popular and loved member of Bristol City Council Social Services, for whom she had worked in various administrative roles. She was a determined individual, whose goal was to further her career as an occupational therapist. She completed the 4-year part-time course while balancing work and family life. On achieving her ambitions, her illness cruelly took her from us.

Jane was a kind, quiet and gentle individual. She was always modest and strived to do her best; working with her was a delight and being her friend was a privilege. …
