Dear Readers:

It has been a long time since I've written to our readership. A number of recent changes and the achievement of a number of milestones provide the rationale for doing so now. Beginning with this issue we will be publishing two issues a year: November and March. Each will continue to consist of cutting edge service-learning research, theory, pedagogy, issues, and essay reviews. For the time being we will continue our once-a-year submission process described in the Journal's newly reconstructed homepage: www.umich.edu/~mjcsl.

We have a subscription agreement with Campus Compact. Community service directors at each member institution will receive the MJCSL as a benefit of membership.

We have reached three significant milestones. Subscriptions now exceed 1,300. More than 100 faculty serve as peer reviewers. More than 70 articles have been submitted for each of the last three regular issues.

Five outstanding service-learning educators join our editorial board. Robert Bringle is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Service and Leadership at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Barbara Holland is on leave from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis serving as the Director of Community Outreach Partnership Centers (COPC) at Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Arthur Keene is Professor of Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. …
