This semiannual column selectively lists newly issued periodicals; describes their objectives, formats, and contents; and provides information about special issues, title and format changes, mergers, and cessations. The premier volume of Keyboard Perspectives covers four centuries of keyboard music history, "from Heinrich Scheidemann and Johann Joachim Froberger in the seventeenth century, to J. S. Bach and Mozart in the eighteenth, and on to builders of fortepianos and organs in the twenty-first" (publisher Web site).

The mission of this publication is to serve the Westfield Center's membership interests in diverse topics in keyboard music studies. The Westfield Center is an organization, made up of experts and amateurs, created in 1979 for the advocacy of classical keyboard music and instruments (workshops, publications). The first issue includes articles on topics such as performance practice, organology, an interview and recording review. Some issues will be accompanied by audio CDs. This title will be useful to libraries supporting performance practice and keyboard performance.
