Foundation Board of Governors Adds New Members

The PDK Educational Foundation Board of Governors has added three new members. John (Jack) Jennings, James Kelly, and Ronald Thorpe have joined chair David Andrews, vice-chair Belinda Gimbert, PDK International president Sandee Crowther, PDK International president-elect Kathleen Andreson, PDK International regional representative Frank Nappi, Jr., and Board of Governors member Arliss Roaden.

Jennings founded the Center on Education Policy in Washington, D.C., in January 1995 and is currently its president and CEO. From 1967 to 1994, he was subcommittee staff director and then general counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Education and Labor. In these positions, he was involved in nearly every major education debate at the national level.

Kelly is co-director of Strategic Management of Human Capital in Public Education, a major initiative of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education. This multi-year national project began in January 2008 with significant funding from the Carnegie and Gates foundations, among others. It is designed to achieve dramatic improvement in the organizational performance and student achievement levels in urban public school districts in the United States. …
