A CEI is saddened to announce the passing of long-time member DeVere Eldon Blomberg. A dedicated and loyal member for 52 years, Blomberg served the Association in several roles over the years. He was Vice President of Kansas ACEI; co-chaired the ACEI Annual Conference in Wichita, Kansas; and served as an ACEI Fellow in Washington, D.C., from 1973-74. Blomberg was a dear friend of the Kansas ACEI community and he will be greatly missed.

Blomberg was an accomplished educator, librarian, and community leader. He graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, m 1951, and earned his M.Ed. from the University of Nebraska in 1953. He served in the United States Army counterintelligence corps from 1953 through 1955. Blomberg began his teaching and library career at Roxbury Elementary School in 1955. In 1974, he completed his Masters in Library Science at the University of Washington. He served as Salina's USD 305 district cataloger and elementary librarian for many years, until his retirement in 1995.

Blomberg was active in his church, the community, and other organizations. …
