The Canadian Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres sends best wishes on the occasion of the IAML July 2009 conference in Amsterdam.

CAML / ACBM held its annual conference from 28 to 31 May 2009 in Ottawa at Carleton University. CAML convened in conjunction with the Canadian University Music Society and our conference was just one of the many associations meeting under the umbrella of the Congress of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. CAML's featured keynote address was delivered by Mark Miller, who presented a digressive review of thirty-five years of jazz journalism. The annual general meeting ratified a proposal already approved by general ballot which allows for a change to CAML's constitution enabling a more flexible and less expensive audit procedure. This will help to ensure that CAML spends a greater proportion of its budget actually furthering the goals of the Association. The 2009 Helmut Kallmann Award was presented to and graciously received by Marie-Therese Lefebvre.

As of the annual general meeting, the CAML Board includes elected members Kirsten Walsh, President; Peter Higham, Past-president; Laura Snyder, Secretary; Joseph Hafner, Member-at-large. Appointed members are Treasurer, Rob van der Bliek; Communications officer, Cheryl Martin and Membership secretary, Janneka Guise.
