Thanks, Chris!

This issue, we say thank you to Chris I Ohana, multitasking educator and editor of Science and Children, 2003-2009. The journal grew and thrived during Chris's six-year tenure. Chris's enthusiasm and clarity about various science education issues regularly found its way into the journal, and we loved it! Attention to assessments, connecting to learning standards, practicality for teachers, big ideas, creativity, and innovation. These were hallmarks of her teaching and of the articles Chris selected and published in Science and Children during her editorship. As the Society of National Association Publishers noted in S&C's Gold Award for General Excellence in 2007, "in its graphic presentation as well as its topical approach, Science and Children is, to borrow a phrase, 'not your father's scholarly journal.'"
