After 12 years Marion O'Connor has stepped down as an editor of Theatre Notebook to take over responsibility for the Society for Theatre Research Publications. Her enthusiasm, her range and depth of knowledge and her meticulous attention to detail have been a major asset to contributors, her fellow editors and to Theatre Notebook's readers and we are delighted that her expertise will still be available to the journal through her decision to accept an invitation to become one of our advisors. We are also delighted that we shall be able to continue to draw on the expertise of Geoff Davidson, who has also agreed to be one of our advisors. We welcome our new editor Sarah McCleave, who has particular expertise in eighteenth-century musical and dance theatre.

We remain a journal of the history and technique of the British theatre, but we interpret theatre widely to cover, for example, activities that go on in theatre buildings, theatrical activities outside theatres, professional and amateur theatre, the business of theatre, stage design, the history of theatre buildings, acting technique, theatre outside the British Isles that relates directly to the history and technique of British theatre. …
