The Journal promotes discussion about various issues in peace research, including but not limited to theories of conflict resolution, social justice, cultural survival for indigenous people, human needs and security, nonviolent social change, peace movements, sustainable development, ecological balance, environmental conflict, human rights, self-determination and peace education. In improving our knowledge in the quest for peace, the journal wishes to address strategies to deal with local, regional, or global problems. It promotes the dialogue between peace research and policy making communities in various countries. International Journal of Peace Studies publishes two issues a year in affiliation with the International Peace Research Association (http://soc.kuleuven.be/pol/ipra/).

Authors are encouraged to consider the theoretical and empirical implications of their research in a wider context of solving human problems. Though we occasionally accept shorter manuscripts, the ideal length is 30-50 pages double spaced. The mailing (and email) address of the author, a short biographical statement and abstract must accompany the manuscript.
