Three Elected, Two Appointed to ATEA Board of Trustees

Three trustees have been recently elected to the Board of Trustees and two have been appointed. They will each be serving a three year term. Their terms began on July 1, 2010.

The three elected positions were filled by: Dr. Paul young, Sheridan, Wyo.; Raleigh Downey, Sioux City, Iowa and Chelle Travis, Nashville, Tenn. The two appointees to the board are Bethany Clem, Decatur, Ala. and Ann Stephens, Boise, Idaho.

Dr. Paul Young, President, Northern Wyoming Community College District, Sheridan College, Wyo. has been reelected for a second term. Prior to his recent position as president of the district, he served as the Dean at the Gillette campus for five years. During his short tenure as Dean at the Gillette campus, he made possible the new state-of-the art Technical Center, improved the quality of the college's programs, expanded enrollment and hired quality faculty.

Raleigh Downey will be serving his first term on the Board of Trustees. He has taught in the Auto Collision Repair program at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Sioux City, Iowa for the past 38 years. Downey was chosen as the ATEA Outstanding Technical Teacher in 2003 and is currently president for Region 5 of ATEA. He is a member of several local, state and regional associations and very active in the community.
