This Fall 2010 issue of Teacher Education Quarterly is the 48th and last regular issue of Thomas Nelson's 12-year term as editor of the journal, which also included one special on-line issue in the spring of this year. The readers of this journal, the members of the California Council on Teacher Education (CCTE) who sponsor the journal, and the many authors, guest-editors, Editorial Board members, and numerous others in the field with whom Tom has worked owe him a resounding thank-you for his outstanding service with Teacher Education Quarterly. During his years as editor the journal has grown in scope and quality, in scholarly reputation, and in service to the field. Although continuing to focus on teacher education, during Tom's editorship the journal has broadened the dimensions of teacher education scholarship and demonstrated how that field is inexorably tied to wider visions of education and society; consider, as an example, this exceptional Fall 2010 issue linking environmental concerns and teacher education. While the number of submissions has increased tremendously during his editorship, Tom has continued to give each potential author close personal attention, and he and his editorial team have selected and polished the best in teacher education scholarship to share with our readers. …
