The Robert Penn Warren Circle announces that its annual meeting will be held April 21-23, 2011. Hosts are Western Kentucky University, Austin Peay University, and the Robert Penn Warren Birthplace in Bowling Green and Guthrie, Kentucky, and Clarksville, Tennessee. As a poet, novelist, and essayist, as well as a scholar and a critic, Robert Penn Warren had an enormous impact on American literature and the ways we understand it. The papers, panels, and roundtables will relate to the theme "Robert Penn Warren and American Literature." We will also host a teaching workshop on Warren and the Civil War and the civil rights movement.
