In November 2010 last year, I had the privilege of attending a talk by Greg Mortenson, the author of Three Cups of Tea and Stones Into Schools. His mission to promote peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan through building schools, especially for girls, one school at a time, was a real inspiration for me. Thinking of his mission brings me back to my call in the last Exchange to raise funds to build a school for girls in Tanzania. If we respond to this call, one student chapter at a time, our mission can be fulfilled. New York State Chapter ACEI has raised more than $300 through a basket raffle, and I am hoping to hear from the other student chapters about how you can be involved in this project.

Besides being involved in service projects internationally, student chapters have been really active in reaching out to their local communities. Islander ACEI has helped to create a dramatic play counseling room for a women's shelter and Buffalo State College ACEI is planning to help women and children in crisis through a Valentine's Day Party.
