The autumn of this year will see the admission of Alberta's first woman graduate in law at the bar. This clever woman who has had the perseverance to conclude the law course is Miss Lillian Ruby Clements, B.A., of Vegreville, Alta.

When she appeared among the graduates in the recent examinations by the Alberta law society, some wonderment was occasioned as to whether the objections which have met women graduates in other provinces would be raised in Alberta. To the credit of the law society and province, Miss Clements experienced no difficulty whatever. The matter was taken up with Mr. Charles F. Adams of this city, secretary of the law society of Alberta and in reply he confirmed this assurance that Miss Clements may seek admission as a barrister and solicitor any time after September upon complying with the rules of the society regarding proof of service under articles.

"I know of no reason why Miss Clements should not thereupon be duly admitted and enrolled as a barrister and solicitor of this provinces," he states. …
