The IRI Medal, established in 1946, is presented to recognize outstanding accomplishments in technological innovation that contribute broadly to the development of industry and to the benefit of society.

* For building robust, multidisciplinary collaborations between R&D, marketing, and manufacturing to deliver competitively differentiated, customer-focused solutions worldwide,"

* For developing strategic partnerships with government, universities, and corporations to harness the creativity of the entire innovation ecosystem, and

* For championing the role of women in science and engineering and mentoring science and engineering professionals.

Dr. Uma Chowdhry served as senior vice president and Chief Science and Technology Officer (CSTO) at DuPont from 2006 until her retirement in 2010. During her tenure as CSTO, Dr. Chowdhry focused on ensuring strong connections between R&D, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure rapid development and market introduction of new technologies. …
